Welcome to our February Stampin Friends Blog Hop. The theme this month is FAVORITES. Be sure to hop along and visit my crafty friends' blogs to be inspired by their cards and projects. If you "get lost," along the way, scroll down to the bottom of each blog for a list of bloggers. I hope you have come from Teri's blog. After you view my blog, continue on to see Stephanie's FAVORITES.
FAVORITES! What fun! How to narrow it down? Here goes with some of my FAVORITES:
Season: summer
Color: color of tropical waters (Coastal Cabana and Bermuda Bay of course!)
Flower: morning glories (stamp set Morning Star found in the Stampin' Up! 2020 Mini Catalog)
Stamping tool: stamparatus
Adhesive: dimensionals!
Die cut sets: Lace and Stitched Shapes
I have a dear friend who will be undergoing cancer treatments in the near future, and I am sending her this pocket card, bookmark, and one of our FAVORITE books
to cheer her up during her treatments.
I was inspired to make this pocket card after seeing a YouTube posting by Connie Stewart called Easiest Pocket Card Ever. Thanks, Connie!
Connie's pocket card is made with designer series paper, but one of my FAVORITE techniques is creating my own patterned paper by stamping tone on tone images to card stock. I cut and scored the Coastal Cabana cardstock, trimmed off two bottom tabs, and punched a finger hole resulting in this template:
For perfect placement, I used my FAVORITE tool ever--my stamparatus to stamp these images on the front panel using Bermuda Bay ink.
I used the Lace die and the trimmer edge die piece to create the lace piece:
I completed the pocket by folding and adhering the flaps to the back, adding some sequins (a free item in the Sale-A-Bration catalog--always a FAVORITE!) and adding a ribbon.
The pocket insert was stamped with more morning glory flowers and vines found in the Morning Star stamp set.
This origami corner bookmark was created following directions I found on Pinterest. Thank you, Andreja Vucajnk for your demonstration! Find her at easypeasyfun.com.
Andreja recommends origami paper, but I used a 6 x 6 piece of designer series paper (Coastal Cabana) from the Brights collection. (Color coordination of Stampin' Up! paper, ink, and embellishments is another one of my FAVORITES!) Because my paper was sturdy, my folds weren't as perfect as I would have liked. Fortunately, my circle embellishment covered the little gap between the front folds!
After stamping the images (Bermuda Bay and Pear Pizzazz), I used one of the Stitched Shapes dies (another FAVORITE set!) to cut the white circle and a scalloped circle from the Layering Circles set.
I hope you have enjoyed my projects and have gotten some inspiration to create something of your own. I would love it if you would leave a comment for me below. Be sure to click on the names below where my Stampin Friends are sharing their FAVORITES!
Until next time.....
Jean
