Stampin Friends 2021 September Blog Hop--Say it With Sentiments

Welcome!

Where does the time go? September is flying by. We had frost on the ground this morning. Already it's time for my Stampin' Friends and I to share our latest cards and 3-D projects. Our theme this month is: Say it With Sentiments.

If you are hopping along with us, you may have come from Katja's blog. Please continue on with Teri's blog. You will find a list of bloggers at the bottom of my blog.

I especially like stamp sets that include inside messages. The Inspired Thoughts stamp set in Stampin' Up!'s 2021-2022 Annual Catalog has greetings and coordinating inside messages for several occasions. It can be purchased as a bundle with the Inspired Canopy die set at a 10% saving. I used the bundle for my projects.

The card
I needed a sympathy card recently, and these sentiments were exactly right.

The inside leaves were cut with the Seasonal Swirls die set. The label for the front greeting was cut from a die in the Tasteful Labels set.

The Inspired Canopy dies are so versatile--trees for
every season can be cut easily and quickly.

The tree die cuts FOUR trees, but in this picture I cut one off for a different project.
I love the fall colors, and I have cut leaves in a variety of colors and stored them in a clear envelope--ready for any season. There is also a die to cut the curvy ground piece for the backdrop of the trees.

There is no "right" way to place the leaves on the bare tree, but I found that I liked the look when I adhered the first layer at the bottom of the branches like so:

Then add more layers, overlapping a bit as you go up.

Don't forget to make piles of leaves on the ground!

The 3-D project

I am making items to sell at a craft sale in November.  One of my best selling items is a mini legal sized covered notepad.  I used the Inspired Canopy dies to create this one:

The message is from a retired stamp set. The birds and the mask I used for the clouds were in the March 2021 Paper Pumpkin kit.
Here is the inside:

Directions for making the cover for the note pad can be found in my November 2020 blog post. Click here to find it: Post: Edit (blogger.com)

Here are the links to my friends' blog posts. You will find lots of paper crafting inspiration in the these blog posts! At the bottom of each blog there is a place to leave a comment. We love to hear what you think of our creations.

  4. I love the fall colors in your projects! Fall is my favorite time of year in Montana, least favorite here in southern California!
I especially like the inside pocket on your mini legal pad. I have never made on like that...but I will make one soon for sure!
